NYSESLAT Information - Administered annually, determines the English proficiency of ELL students and is the ONLY criterion to determine proficiency. Multiple measures may not be used.
NYSESLAT Resources - Webinette series discussing the NYSESLAT and how it aligns with the NYS learning standards, the Targets of Measurement, and Performance Level Descriptors.
Accommodations for ELLs - ELL students may receive testing accommodations for all State exams except the NYSESLAT. This also extends to former ELL students for up to 2 years.
Bilingual Glossaries ELL students may use bilingual glossaries for all state assessments, except the NYSESLAT. Order glossaries at the beginning of the school year for students to use during their classes and on local exams as well as for state assessments.
