Hospital Based Program
The intent of our Hospital Based Program is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment that meets the educational requirements set forth by the New York State Department of Education and the student's (patient's) home district.
Benefits of Hospital Based Instruction for the Student (Patient)
- It helps to bring a sense of normalcy to their hospital stay and reduces their level of anxiety related to missing school
- Instruction is often one-to-one
- It prevents the student (patient) from falling behind academically
- The OCM BOCES hospital based teacher is able to meet the unique needs of the student (patient)
