The Project Effective Parent Program (PEP) is intended as an intervention program that will enable students to success fuly complete high school while parenting.  PEP offers a supportive environment that allows young women to prepare for childbirth, set goals, learn parenting skills and access information necessary for life changes.

As a social worker in the PEP program my responsibilities are to support our young ladies who are about to become parents.  I do this by providing counseling, linkage to community services, offering life skills classes and fun activities.  During the day students are engaged in parenting classes, lamaze classes and assisted with daycare care preparations and Department of Social Services.
