As an OCM BOCES employee it is mandatory that you complete the Data Privacy and Security Training. There is one module that is required and two that are optional. If you are a new employee this year, it is highly recommended that you do all three modules. The training does not need to be completed in one sitting. You may close the training and return to it later and the course will pick up where you left off.
Please complete the required module no later than October 11, 2024.
Instructions
- You will receive an email from no-reply@dpstraining.riconedpss.org which contains the information for you to complete the training. The subject line in that email is IMPORTANT Email about Data Privacy and Security Awareness Training from the RIC One Data Privacy and Security Team.
- Click the 'Take This Training' button above. Read the information about the course.
- Click the blue bar that says Step 1 - Create A PIN.
- Choose OCMBOCES as the district and enter the district password OCMEdLaw2D, then click Check District Password.
- Begin typing the letters of your last name in the box that appears, and after a few characters, your name should pop into the white box below. Click your name when it appears. Then click Send My PIN.
- A unique PIN will be sent to your email address. Once you have acquired your PIN. Return to https://dpstraining.riconedpss.org and click Step 2 - I have already created my PIN.
- Enter your email address and the PIN that was sent to you and click Authenticate. You will then be able to take the course.

As an OCM BOCES employee it is mandatory that you complete the Workplace Violence Prevention Training. After viewing the training video, fill out the form linked below to attest that you have completed the training.

Training
For certified staff only that are mandated reporters!!!
Updated Mandated Reporter Training Requirements.
The law was recently updated to require additional training to certified staff that are mandated reporters. This new training now includes protocols to reduce implicit bias in decision-making processes, strategies for identifying adverse childhood experiences, and guidelines to assist in recognizing signs of abuse or maltreatment while interacting virtually. Our mandated reporters must complete the updated training curriculum by March 1, 2025. Mandated Reporters include but are not limited to Teachers, Teaching Assistants, School Nurses, School Counselors, School Psychologists and Administrators.
Please complete the training by March 1, 2025.
In order to demonstrate completion of this training, please provide your certificate of completion to the Personnel office by emailing a PDF copy to personnel@ocmboces.org.
