WORK BASED LEARNING
Program Details
The Work-Based Learning program at OCM BOCES offers a unique opportunity for students between the ages of 16 and 22 to continue their academic progress while gaining authentic work experience at one of 30+ businesses and higher education institutions that partner with us to make this program a success. Our primary goal is to help students develop work skills and habits to support job success and foster personal growth.
How it Works
Students work in a large variety of settings, from one to five days per week, under the guidance of a one-on-one job coach. They perform a wide range of tasks in areas such as food service, retail, custodial work, administrative settings and customer service. Times are flexible, but students generally work two hours each day. OCM BOCES provides work-based learning opportunities for students in its 23 component districts.
