Eighth grade students in the OCM BOCES Reach Program have been working on a project entitled “The Immigrant Experience,” during which they spent time researching immigration along with a variety of cultural foods as they learned about different cultures in China, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Poland. Students used their knowledge to create visual displays and on Thursday, February 25, they had the opportunity to present information about the foods and cultures in the Taft Road Wegmans Cafe. While students presented their information, staff from Wegmans was on hand to provide free samples of the foods the students researched.
2016 is the second year that students have presented their cultural projects in collaboration with Wegmans. Many thanks to the grocery store for their educational collaboration!
