STARS Alternative High School was created to help students become productive members of society and contribute to the well-being of their communities through service and life-long learning. Students are referred to the program when they are not reaching their potential within the traditional setting. The program provides rigorous grade-level academics within a supportive environment. The development of solid academic skills is stressed along with developing pro-social skills. We value small class sizes to promote the building of positive personal relationships between the students and their teachers. Students also participate in interdisciplinary project-based learning, advisement groups and community-based interventions. The goal of the program is to provide students with a learning environment that will lead to not only high school graduation but prepare them for college or career and technical education.
