106 OCM BOCES scholars in Career & Technical Education and New Vision programs inducted
into the National Technical Honor Society from the Cortlandville Campus
April 18, 2023
Before an audience that filled both levels of the McEvoy auditorium at the Cortlandville Campus, OCM BOCES inducted 106 students into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on April 18. The honor represents hard work, character, and academic success in a variety of programs that teach specialized, hands-on skills to prepare them for college or careers.

To qualify, students must have high academic standing, good attendance and NTHS attributes that include respect, honesty, skill, responsibility, leadership, service and citizenship. The goal of NTHS is to recognize "deserving students who have chosen technical education pathways to a successful future."
During the ceremony, students lit candles to represent the seven NTHS attributes. They also received special ropes from CTE Principal Deb Wood and tassels to wear with their graduation gowns in their home districts. They shook hands with OCM BOCES administrators that included Eric Comtois, director of CTE & New Vision programs; OCM BOCES Deputy Superintendent Colleen Viggiano; and OCM BOCES District Superintendent Matt Cook, Ed.D. They recited a pledge to continue upholding the NTHS attributes.
Students who received the honor attend Career & Technical Education and New Vision programs at the Cortlandville Campus. Programs included Automotive Collision Technology; Automotive Technology; Computer Technology; Construction Technology; Cosmetology; Culinary Arts; Early Childhood Education; Graphic Communications; Health Occupations; Heavy Equipment Repair, Operations & Diesel Technology; New Vision Environmental Science; New Vision Medical Professions; Physical Therapy & Rehabilitative Professions; and Welding Technology.
OCM BOCES would like to extend a big congratulations to all of our NTHS scholars! Students at the OCM BOCES Thompson Road campus were also honored at a previous ceremony.
