Student Profile
Students identified as severely multiply disabled (Autistic, Medically fragile, Downs Syndrome and other unique disabilities.) These students exhibit severe cognitive delays, challenging behaviors, visual, hearing and/or physical impairments as well as other medical needs. Many students exhibit IQ scores below 50 or are currently unable to be tested through standardized measures. Grade Range: K - 12.
Desired Outcomes
To address and improve specific communication, physical, academic, social and management needs.
Daily Activities
Daily activities of students are highly individualized. Many activities involve improving communication skills. Daily living skills such as cooking, housekeeping and social skills are emphasized. Adaptive equipment and augmentative communication devies are used through out the program. Instruction occurs in natural and community settings for practical application of daily living skills to promote instructional opportunities success and transfer.
Referral Process
The office responsible for coordinating student services from the student's home district will contact Karen Koch, Assistant Director of OCM BOCES to begin the referral process.
