A message from the District Superintendent
For educators and students alike, the fall is a time of new beginnings and change. Excitement crackles in the air, as crisp as the fall leaves. This year is no different. In fact, in education, the atmosphere of change is more pronounced than ever as we anticipate new national standards known as Common Core and New York's newly adopted principal and teacher evaluation system, the Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR).
This is certainly an exciting time to be the new district superintendent at Onondaga Cortland Madison BOCES. I came on board on August 1, 2012 and I am continually learning about this organization. I am finding out about the important and diverse roles that all our staff have in making OCM BOCES a place that serves our students, component districts, and communities with high-quality programs, services, and support.
For more than 60 years, OCM BOCES has collaborated with our districts to provide services and support. While we are best known for our many types of educational services and instructional support for our districts, we are also involved in consolidating functions to help school districts save money.
Whether offering an opportunity to earn a Regents diploma in a non-traditional setting, fostering career development, or providing technology in the classroom, OCM BOCES provides students, districts, and staff with a variety of value-added educational services.
Please take a few moments to browse the various areas of our website and you will get a glimpse of the high-quality programs, services, and support that OCM BOCES can provide for your students and/or district.
