Medical Assistant
Train for a rewarding career in one of the fastest-growing occupations in the medical profession. Work with physicians and other health professionals, assisting with the delivery of quality health care. Medical assistants have a deep impact as the front line in medical offices. This is a hands-on clinical training program that also includes an introduction to administrative components, allowing the student to develop into a versatile employee able to multi-task in today's busy medical office setting. Some of the topics within the 780-hour curriculum are medical terminology, assisting with minor office surgeries, vital signs, EKG, aseptic techniques and infection control, medical documentation, law and ethics of health care, phlebotomy, introduction to Microsoft Windows and Word, introduction to medical office management, and billing and coding.

Instructor: Lena E. May, CMA (AAMA), has more than seven years of experience in the medical assisting field in a variety of settings.
