Special Education Programs

The BOCES Special Education Programs are operated by the school districts to serve students with disabilities. All BOCES classes are operated in compliance with the Commissioner's Regulations Part 200. BOCES offers a wide range of educational alternatives for students with varying degrees of mental, emotional and physical disabilities.

The program emphasis is on helping students to develop their full potential and function as independently as possible. Where feasible, students are educated with non-handicapped peers, and in the least restrictive environment.
