Pharmacy Technology
This program prepares individuals, under the supervision
of a pharmacist, to prepare and provide medications, and
related assistance to patients, and manage pharmacy
clinical and business operations. Training for this "in
demand" occupation will lead to the ability to take the
Certified Pharmacy Technician examination. Coursework
will include Medical and Pharmaceutical Terminology;
Drug Identification; Principles of Pharmacology and
Pharmaceutics; Pharmacy Procedures; Prescription
Interpretation; Procedures; Record Keeping: Measurement
and Testing Techniques; Pharmacy Business Operations;
Prescription Preparation; Logistics and Dispensing
Operations; and applicable standards and regulations.
Uniforms and a 4-week internship are included.
Instructor:
Carrie L. Mocyk - Carrie has 8 years of retail
pharmacy experience including WalMart, CVS, Wegmans and
two independent pharmacies. She has a vocational
teaching degree, with adult education experience. Carrie
has the experience and education that will assist her in
creating an adult education classroom that will give
students the opportunity to learn in a well-rounded
atmosphere and better prepare them for their career as a
pharmacy technician.
