ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Description:
Begin with the basics of keyboarding, letter writing,
business English, filing, and the use of various office
machines including the calculator, photocopy machines,
telephone and fax. Then this training program will begin
to focus on the skills necessary for mid to upper level
office support positions such as Administrative
Assistant, Executive Secretary, Legal Secretary, Medical
Secretary, and General Secretary. The focus is on
extensive Word proficiency, and also incorporates Excel,
PowerPoint, and Access, depending on which clerical
position is desired.

About the Instructor: Bachelor's degree
in Vocational Technical Education, and A.A.S. in
Business Administration plus 10 years secretarial work
experience in legal, medical and human service settings.
Twenty-first year teaching Office Technology.

This program is designed for people who want to develop
their basic computer skills and take them to the next
level. The curriculum includes Microsoft Windows, Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Access, in addition to
incorporating the administrative skills needed for a
variety of office-related careers.

Description:
Begin with the basics of keyboarding, letter writing,
business English, filing, and the use of various office
machines including the calculator, photocopy machines,
telephone and fax. Then continue on to a concentration
in the financial aspect of running an office. Develop
skills in manual bookkeeping procedures and payroll, as
well as computerized methods of these functions using
software such as Excel and QuickBooks.
