ICD-9 and CPT Coding For Medical Offices
In this 12-session class, you will learn essential skills for ICD-9 and CPT coding in today's medical office. In the first eight classes, you will gain hands-on knowledge in transferring verbal or written diagnosis into numerical codes to correctly assign ICD-9 codes to billing forms. During the last four classes, you will develop a basic working knowledge of Physicians' Current Procedural Technology (CPT), a standardized system of codes and descriptive terms used to report medical services and procedures performed by physicians as well as technical components of most outpatient services. Additional cost for textbooks.

Phlebotomy Technician
For persons in the medical field, this certification program is approved by the
National Phlebotomy Association. Topics include the role of the phlebotomist, patient identification, suitability of specimens, collection equipment, interfering substances, venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques, test requisitioning, specimen transport and processing and quality assurance in phlebotomy. Anatomically correct arms are used in class. Testing for NPA certification will be given at the final session. An additional fee of $100.00 will be necessary prior to testing. Text required.

Prerequisite: LPN, EMT, MA, RN, or equivalent medical experience. In certain cases, Nursing Assistants who have had previous training in drawing blood can be accepted into the program following an interview with the instructor.
