Making the Most of Your Digital Images
Designed for the novice, the curriculum addresses general image considerations that are commonly encountered in digital photography. This course is a valuable resource for the amateur genealogist. Methods of storage and options for sharing photos will be explored, along with other areas of interest such as working with image files, basic editing, adding content, techniques in photo restoration, correcting image color, manipulating image size and orientation and much more. Presentation of material will be supplemented with generous lab time allowing students to work with their own photos or sample images. Experience with Windows required. Limit of 5 students.

An introduction to MS-PowerPoint 2000, a
state of the art presentation software package. Learn the basics of PowerPoint to include identifying and working with features and tools, and navigation within presentations. Hands-on sessions demonstrate how to incorporate elements such as text, animation, slide transition, speaker notes, organization charts, tables and graphical objects into dynamic presentations for all occasions. Workshops allow time for independent resolution of textbook scenarios of varying complexity and offer opportunities for students to develop and fine-tune their presentation skills.

This class is uniquely designed for scrapbookers at all levels (including kids!). If you’re just starting out, you’ll leave with know-how on organizing your projects, and creating attractive, interesting pages and albums for you and your family. If you’re an experienced scrapbooker, you’ll have the opportunity to see a large variety of interesting and fun ideas on page layouts, cropping and design techniques, decorative ideas and more. Either way you’ll leave class with two completed pages! Please bring 10 – 15 photos to use during class.

Sign Language
Can you see your ABC's? The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to signing by using American Sign Language as well as signed English. Using visual aids, games, along with a text, students will learn the manual alphabet, numbers and a variety of basic signs and phrases that are commonly used in everyday situations. Stenciling, Trompe L'Oeil and Faux Finishes
Create a primitive village scene that is “out a kitchen window”. Build your kitchen using trompe L’oeil stencils and faux finishing painting techniques. Then create a primitive village scene that you would like to behold in your kitchen window. This view will be painted with freehand skies and land and with the use of stenciled houses, trees, animals, etc… No experience in painting or stenciling is necessary. Please bring a hair dryer to the first class. All supplies can be purchased from the instructor for approximately $30.00.
