AutoCAD/Mechanical Desktop

Description: If you have basic mechanical skills and an introductory knowledge of Windows 2000, you can prepare to work in the field of Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD). After completing core instruction in areas such as multi-view drawings, dimensional fundamentals and sectional views, you will develop specialized skills needed for drafting in a mechanical / manufacturing or architectural environment. Your computer-based instruction will be done using AutoCAD 2002/Mechanical Desktop and Inventor, as well as AutoCAD 2005.

Topics will include:

• technical drafting of assembly drawings

• manufacturing processes

• welding drawings, and more

• 2-dimensional drafting and advanced editing

• 3-dimensional drafting and advanced editing

• 3-dimensional solid modeling

A two-week internship will allow participants to further refine their skills with a local employer.

Course Hours: 747 hours

Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $5850 tuition
