JOURNAL WRITING
This class is designed to give students the tools needed to solve their own problems, build confidence, and possibly discover the writer within. It is a safe place to record hopes, dreams, and goals. Journal writing provides both emotional and mental clarity, which helps reduce stress and leads to better mental and physical health. Come learn different journaling techniques such as unsent letters, character sketches and more. Everyone can benefit from a little "self therapy".

MORE CREATIVE WRITING
Students from Creative Writing I and newcomers are welcome. You will continue your experiments in writing fiction begun in Creative Writing I, and you’ll start getting serious about pieces you’ve already written. Now we’ll start working on finding your individual style, practicing technique, and polishing the finished work. As a class we’ll critique, construct, guide, and support. We’ll also discuss the elements of fiction found in all good literature: metaphor, symbolism, humanity, and truth. Plus, as we approach possible publication we’ll consider the relationship between fiction and society, and think about what people want to read. There will be lots of revisions, rewrites, and finished works—all while continuing to enjoy ourselves. Please bring a story idea, work-in-progress, or completed piece to the first class.
